European election to be entered on the electoral roll as a returnee
If you have German citizenship, are eligible to vote and are returning to Germany from abroad, you can register on the electoral roll for the
European election if the requirements for registration are not met ex officio.
Description
If you have German citizenship and move back to Germany from abroad, you may not automatically be registered on the electoral roll for the European elections.
This depends on when you re-registered in Germany after your return. If you did so after the 42nd day and before the 20th day before the election, you must apply in writing to be entered on the electoral roll.
