Dog tax

Every dog owner who resides in the municipal area of the town of Jüchen is liable to pay tax.

Registration for dog tax

The tax liability begins on the first day of the month in which the dog is taken in, but in the case of dogs that are born to the owner from a female dog held by the owner, only on the first day of the month in which the dog turns three months old.

For dog owners who care for or keep a dog, the tax liability begins on the first of the month in which the period of two months has been exceeded in accordance with § 1 Para. 3 Sentence 2 of the dog statutes of the town of Jüchen.

If a dog owner moves to Jüchen from another town, the tax liability begins on the first day of the month following the move.

Deregistration of the dog tax

The tax liability ends at the end of the month in which the dog is sold, lost or dies.

If a dog owner moves out of the town of Jüchen, the tax liability ends at the end of the month in which the move takes place.

Dogs that do not qualify as large dogs in accordance with § 11 LHundG NRW must only be identified with a microchip in a forgery-proof manner. For clear identification, the microchip number must be provided when registering and deregistering for dog tax purposes.
