Heat cost allocators for recording the proportionate heat consumption may only be used if they comply with the recognised rules of technology or if their suitability has been proven in another way. Expert bodies shall be responsible for testing and confirming the suitability of the types of distributors.

Natural and legal persons may act as expert bodies, whose suitability as an expert body is officially confirmed. You must apply for this confirmation and prove your suitability.

• Information and proof of suitable spatial accommodation and technical equipment of the expert body in accordance with the requirements of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt
• Proof of expertise, reliability and independence, i.e. neutral and objective auditing activity, economic independence of management and staff
• Information on the type of heat cost allocator to be assessed
• Proof of the resources necessary for the maintenance and proper operation of the expert body

The application for confirmation of suitability as an expert body must be submitted in writing to the competent body.

In cooperation with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, it will check your suitability and, if necessary, issue a certificate of proven suitability.
