Admission to the bar in accordance with the Federal Lawyers' Act

Fully qualified lawyers who wish to practise as lawyers must be admitted to the bar.

Upon admission, they also become members of the admitting Bar Association.

• Completed application form
• Application Form Questionnaire
• Complete CV with up-to-date photo
• an officially certified copy or original of the examination certificate attesting to the acquisition of the qualification for judicial office
• Provisional guarantee of cover from the professional indemnity insurance
• if applicable, certified copy of the doctoral certificate or further evidence of the acquisition of academic degrees
• If applicable, copy of the employment contract/job description as well as the employer's declaration of exemption in the original

A separate platform has been developed for online applications. On the so-called service platform you can submit your applications electronically and much more! You are welcome to get your own impression of the application in advance without registering beforehand. To do this, use the simulation. In order to make full use of the online application, you must first register with the online application process.

• qualification for judicial office or
• Fulfilment of the integration requirements under the Act on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany or
• Passing the corresponding aptitude test according to the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO)

• You submit your completed and signed application together with a questionnaire with all the necessary documents to the Bar Association.
• In the office of the Bar Association, the admission requirements are checked.
• If all admission requirements are met, you will be invited to receive the certificate of admission and the swearing-in by the Bar Association.

• Frankfurt Bar Association: 160,00 Euro
