If the activity is carried out simultaneously at different locations, a separate permit from the veterinary office responsible for the location of the establishment is required for each location.
The veterinary office of the place where the company usually has its registered office or winter quarters or is registered as a business is responsible for those who wish to commercially exhibit animals or make them available for such purposes and carry out this activity at different locations.
For companies without a registered office in Germany, the competent veterinary office for the place where the first activity is carried out.
If you trade in species-protected animals, you must also contact the species protection department of the regional council in whose jurisdiction your company is located, as there is an obligation to register due to species protection. You must provide proof of origin for the respective animal and, if you wish to sell species-protected animals, you will also need an EC certificate issued by the species protection department of the regional council.

Zu den Aufgaben des Fachdienstes gehören u.a. die tierschutzrechtliche Überwachung von Tierhaltungen, Bekämpfung von anzeigepflichtigen Tierseuchen sowie die Fleischhygiene- und Lebensmittelüberwachung.
Description
Die Aufgaben des Fachdienstes Veterinärwesen und Verbraucherschutz sind in drei Fachteams gegliedert. Dem Fachdienst Tierschutz obliegt die tierschutzrechtliche Überwachung von Tierhaltungen im landwirtschaftlichen Nutztierbereich, in Versuchstierhaltungen und im Hobby-Bereich. Der Fachdienst Tierseuchenbekämpfung organisiert die Bekämpfung von anzeigepflichtigen Tierseuchen. Dabei handelt es sich um Erkrankungen, die von hoher wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung und/oder auf Menschen übertragbar sind (sog. Zoonosen). Eng damit verbunden ist die Überwachung der ordnungsgemäßen Beseitigung von Tierkörpern oder Tierkörperteilen, die verendet sind oder bei der Schlachtung und weiteren Verarbeitung anfallen. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt des Fachdienstes umfasst den gesamten Bereich der Fleischhygiene- und Lebensmittelüberwachung; so ist zum einen die Untersuchung der Tiere im Rahmen der amtlichen Schlachttier- und Fleischuntersuchung zu organisieren; zum anderen werden alle Betriebe, die Lebensmittel herstellen, lagern oder in den Verkehr bringen, hinsichtlich der Einhaltung von lebensmittelrechtlichen Vorschriften überwacht. Ebenfalls gehört zu den Aufgaben des Fachdienstes die Überwachung des Einsatzes von Arzneimitteln, die zur Anwendung bei Tieren bestimmt sind.
