Register of craftsmen Registration

Registration in the register of craftsmen is a prerequisite for a complete business license. The operation of a standing trade without proper registration in the register of craftsmen is an administrative offence.

The Register of Craftsmen distinguishes between craft activity

• the 41 craftsmen subject to master craftsmanship (Annex A),
• crafts-like trades (Annex B1),
• non-craft trades (Annex B2).

The applicant must prove his professional qualification for each entry (e.g. master craftsman's certificate).

You can also complete the procedure electronically via the Point of Single Contact

• Proof of professional qualification
  - As a rule: master craftsman's certificate
  - For exceptional procedures (§7a, §7b, §8, §9 HwO) possibly also other documents
• Identity card

A separate platform has been developed for online applications. On the so-called service platform you can submit your applications electronically and much more! You are welcome to get your own impression of the application in advance without registering beforehand. To do this, use the simulation. In order to make full use of the online application, you must first register with the online application process.

Fees apply. These vary depending on the basis of registration.
