Election worker
Description
Electoral assistants are citizens who are entitled to vote and who, on election day, lead the election process in the electoral boards as election supervisors and assessors and determine the provisional election result in the electoral district.
Serving on an electoral board appointed by the municipal or city administration is an honorary position. Every citizen is obliged to accept this position, which can only be refused for important reasons.

Das Wahlamt ist für die Vorbereitung und Durchführung bspw. des Bügermeisters / der Bürgermeisterin im Wege der Direktwahl zuständig.
Zu den Aufgaben gehört ebenalls die Vorbereitung und Durchführung der Kommunalwahlen, Landtagswahl, Bundestagswahl sowie der Europawahl.
