Collections

Collections do not require permission in Hesse.

Information and evaluations on organizations seeking donations can be obtained from the "German Central Institute for Social Issues" (DZI), 14195 Berlin, Bernadottestr. 94. According to its own information, the DZI documents about 2,100 charitable organizations in the social, especially the humanitarian-charitable sector in its welfare archive.

On this basis, the DZI answers inquiries from private individuals, companies, authorities and the media against reimbursement of costs.

Fraudulent behaviour in house and street collections can be sanctioned through law enforcement. Collections that violate public safety and order can be subject to police law.
