Identity card - Change address
If you move house, you must notify the relevant office of this change of address.
Description
Your identity card shows your address. In the event of a move, you must notify the competent authority of the change of address.
The competent authority will put a sticker on your identity card and change the address stored in the chip.

As changes of address on identity cards are only possible after a prior change of the main residence under registration law, you must notify the responsible office of the change of address directly when you move. (See also service "Change of main residence".)
