Applying for a day hunting license for the first time
If you wish to hunt, you must obtain a day hunting license from the competent authority under certain conditions.
Description
If you hunt in Germany, you will need a hunting license. This is available in different versions. In addition to the annual hunting license, which is valid for up to 3 years, and the youth hunting license, you can also apply for a daily hunting license.
The daily hunting license is suitable for all those who do not wish to hunt regularly. It is valid for 14 consecutive days within a hunting year.
The authority responsible for your place of residence issues the day hunting license.
Required documents
- Copy of identity card or passport
- Certificate of the hunting examination
- Current photograph
- Proof of statutory hunting liability insurance (premium invoice is not sufficient)
Prerequisites
- You are at least 18 years old when the license is issued.
- You are at least 16 years old for a youth day hunting license.
- You must be personally reliable.
- You are physically fit.
- You have taken out hunting liability insurance.
- You have passed the hunting examination in Germany.
