Extending a permit for the commercial exhibition of persons

The temporary permit for a commercial event for the exhibition of persons can be extended upon application. You can find out more here.

Anyone wishing to commercially organize shows of persons on their business premises or make their business premises available for such events requires a permit, which may be issued for a limited period of time.

If a temporary permit has been issued, an extension can be applied for. The same conditions apply for this extension as for the initial granting of the permit.

• Copy of identity card or passport with a registration certificate
• Application with description of the business, in particular designation of the rooms and any fixtures, including description of the intended use
• Application for a certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority (document type O)
• Application for an extract from the central trade register for submission to an authority (document type 9)
• Certificate in tax matters from the tax office
• Possibly extract from the commercial register
• Building permit, if applicable
• possibly floor plan of all rooms intended for operation
• The temporary personal permit for the exhibition of persons, stating the time limit and the reason for the time limit.

The requirements for renewing the permit are

• You must have the necessary reliability for the business operation
• The shows must not be contrary to public morals
• The business operation must not be contrary to the public interest with regard to its local location or the use of the premises, for example if this harmful effects on the environment within the meaning of the Federal Immission Control Act or other significant disadvantages, dangers or nuisances for the general public.

The extension is deemed to have been granted if the authority has not decided on your application within a period of three months after receipt of the complete documents (Section 6 a (2) GewO) (fictitious approval).

The fees are based on the respective administrative fee schedule of the federal state or on the fee statutes of the authorities responsible under federal state law.
