Applying for recognition as a test expert for technical building equipment

If you are an engineer, you can, under certain conditions, become an inspection expert for technical installations and facilities in buildings.

As an engineer, you can be recognized as a test expert for technical systems and facilities under certain conditions.

The test experts for technical installations and facilities in buildings certify the conformity of the technical systems and facilities to be tested with the requirements of building regulations after carrying out their own inspection. If any defects found are not remedied within the time limit set by the inspection experts, they must inform the lower building supervisory authority.

The Chamber of Engineers of Hesse is responsible.

• Proof of a degree in engineering
• Proof of at least five years of practical professional experience in the subject area(s) applied for
• Proof of at least 2 years of participation in examinations in the subject area(s) applied for
• List of required testing equipment and aids

You can file an objection.

Once you have submitted the application for registration as an inspection expert, you must provide proof of special expertise in the field to which the inspection activity is to relate by means of an expert opinion commissioned by the recognition authority from a body designated by the supreme building supervisory authority.

Annual fee: Administrative fine 125,00 EUR

One-time procedural fee: Administrative fine from 575,00 EUR to 748,00 EUR
