Have the acquisition of the required expertise in radiation protection certified
If you work in the technical field of radiation protection as a radiation protection officer (SSB) or radiation protection supervisor (SSV), you must have the necessary specialist knowledge.
Description
If you intend to operate X-ray equipment or handle radioactive substances, you must provide evidence of the necessary specialist knowledge in radiation protection in the form of a certificate as a competent SSV or SSB.
The acquisition of specialist knowledge consists of components, namely training suitable for the respective field of application, expertise (practical experience in accordance with the guidelines) and successful participation in a recognized specialist knowledge course.
You then apply to the competent authority for a certificate of specialist knowledge. The authority will then examine your documents and the requirements and, if the examination is positive, will certify your specialist knowledge.
It should also be noted that you must update your specialist knowledge after five years at the latest.
