Apply for a flat-rate energy allowance for students and (vocational) students
As a student or vocational student, you can receive a one-off energy allowance. This requires an application to the relevant office.
Description
Students and pupils in technical college classes whose attendance requires a vocational qualification, pupils in vocational college classes and technical college classes that provide a vocational qualification in a training course of at least two years, as well as pupils in comparable courses of education can receive a one-off payment of 200 euros to relieve them of the increased energy costs.
If you are one of the recipients and meet other requirements, you can apply for the one-off payment online using the procedure provided. If you are eligible to apply, you will receive an access code and, if applicable, a PIN from your educational institution. To apply for the energy price lump sum for students and vocational students, you must create a BundID user account. You can submit your application until 30.09.2023. After this date, it will no longer be possible to submit an application.

Prerequisites
- You can receive the one-off payment if you meet the requirements set out in the Energy Price Flat Rates Act (EPPSG):
- You must belong to the group of addressees of the EPPSG. This includes:
- Students,
- From the higher education sector, this also includes, for example, part-time students, doctoral students, students on a semester of leave, students at universities of applied sciences or students on a dual study program.
- Pupils in technical college classes whose attendance requires a vocational qualification,
- Pupils in (vocational) technical college classes that provide a vocational qualification in a training course lasting at least two years,
- Pupils in training courses at higher technical colleges and academies,
- trainees in training courses at certain training institutions that are covered by a statutory instrument pursuant to Section 2 (3) no. 1 of the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG).
- A distinction must be made between trainees:

Eligibility depends on the type of training institution they attend and the type of qualification they are aiming for. Trainees at a vocational college or technical college who are completing a vocational qualification lasting at least two years receive the one-off payment. This also applies to trainees attending a technical college class that requires them to have completed vocational training.
- AND you must also have been enrolled or registered at your training institution by the cut-off date of December 1, 2022,
- AND in addition, your place of residence or habitual abode must have been in Germany on the reference date of December 1, 2022.
- Persons who have completed a study visit/internship abroad limited to a maximum of two semesters and were still enrolled/registered at their educational institution in Germany at the same time generally have their habitual residence in Germany.

Procedure
You can apply digitally for the energy price allowance for students and vocational students.
- You set up a BundID account with the eID function of your ID card, your ELSTER certificate, your electronic residence permit, your EU identity or your EU citizen card.
- Alternatively, you can set up a BundID account as a basic registration with a user name/password.
- You will receive an access code and, if applicable, a PIN from your training institution.
- You register on the website www.einmalzahlung200.de with your BundID account.
- You enter the access code (and PIN if applicable) provided by your training institution in the application form.
- You enter the other required information, in particular the IBAN of your account, a joint account or a third-party account.
- After submitting your application, it will be sent to the responsible office in the country and checked (fully) automatically in the respective country's specialized procedure.
- You will usually receive your approval notification within a few minutes.
Payment of the energy price lump sum is usually made within a few working days.
