Discharge of wastewater into public wastewater systems - early start approval

If you wish to discharge commercial/industrial wastewater into a public wastewater system or sewer system, you generally require a permit. Until the permit is issued, the authorities may allow you to discharge the wastewater beforehand.

If you wish to discharge wastewater into a public sewage system, you must apply for a permit. If you cannot or do not wish to wait until the permit has been issued, the competent authority may allow you to start discharging early. You must apply for this.

• Application for early commencement of the discharge of wastewater into public wastewater facilities
• If applicable, documents, such as statements, which justify your interest in early commencement

Approval is granted if

• an application for approval has already been submitted,
• a decision in favor of the applicant can be expected,
• there is a public interest or a legitimate interest on the part of the applicant in the early start,
• and the applicant undertakes to compensate for all damage caused by the discharge up to the decision and, if the discharge is not approved, to restore the previous condition.

• If applicable, you pay the invoice.
• You can start discharging the wastewater prematurely into a public wastewater system.

The processing time depends on the quality and scope of the applications submitted, the documents submitted, the procedure to be carried out and the processing status of the permit application.
