Publication of the Official Journal
Official gazettes are published by the municipalities in order to publish statutes and legally required official announcements and to inform about other official announcements.
Description
Legal norms (laws, ordinances, statutes) only become effective if they are promulgated, i.e. made public. Federal laws and ordinances are promulgated in the Federal Law Gazette, state regulations in the law and ordinance gazettes of the federal states. At the municipal level, there are provincial regulations that provide for the public announcement of statutes in an official gazette, a newspaper, on the Internet or, in smaller municipalities, by posting them on a notice board. In the official gazettes of the municipalities, not only statutes, but also other legally required notices are made public. In addition, information is provided on other official notifications. In an unofficial section, the official gazettes may contain short news from the municipality or references to events.
