Description
If you want to carry out so-called earth outcrops, you must report this to the competent authority. Outcrops are boreholes or other earthworks that extend so deep into the ground that they can affect the movements or nature of groundwater.
The notification is required for the following projects:
- Old mining exploration or cavity exploration
- Investigation of contaminated sites (except groundwater measuring points)
- Well
- Geochemical investigation
- Geophysical survey
- Geothermal outcrops (other)
- Groundwater measuring point (except wells)
- Engineering geological investigation or ground investigation
- Mapping (except base drilling)
- Raw Material Exploration Drilling
- Other information purposes
- Geothermal use with groundwater heat pumps
Each well provides data for the assessment of the subsurface at the respective location. The display enables the competent authorities to get an impression of the drilling project and the material produced on site. The authorities can carry out supplementary measurements and ensure the quality of the drilling results. This prevents costly wrong decisions in underground spatial planning.

Die Benutzung von Grundwasser (meistens Entnahme) bedarf grundsätzlich nach § 8 des Wasserhaushaltsgesetzes (WHG) einer Erlaubnis oder Bewilligung.
Brunnenbohrungen sind grundsätzlich anzeigepflichtig. Eine geplante Benutzung von Grundwasser ist der Unteren Wasserbehörde spätestens einen Monat vor Baubeginn anzuzeigen. Soweit dabei Stoffe in das Grundwasser eingebracht werden, kann eine Erlaubnispflicht entstehen. Im Rahmen der Anzeige erfolgt durch die zuständige Untere Wasserbehörde eine Prüfung hinsichtlich des Erfordernisses einer Erlaubnis. Bei einer Brunnentiefe von mehr als 10 m ist dies generell gegeben. In diesem Fall dürfen die Arbeiten zudem nur durch ein nach Arbeitsblatt DVGW W 120-1 zertifiziertes Unternehmen durchgeführt werden. Rammbrunnen mit den geeigneten Ausbaumaterialien aus einem Fach- oder Baumarkt können meist selbst hergestellt werden. Angaben zu Grundwasserständen erhalten Sie beim Hessischen Landesamt für Naturschutz, Umwelt und Geologie, Rheingaustraße 186, 65203 Wiesbaden, oder beim örtlichen Wasserversorger.
Die erlaubnisfreie Grundwassernutzung beinhaltet jedoch nicht die erforderliche Erlaubnis, Stoffe (PE-Rohre, Schüttgut und Bohremulsion) ins Grundwasser einzubringen. Erlaubnisfrei bleibt lediglich die Entnahme durch Einbringen (Einrammen) handelsüblicher Rohre (Rammsonden) bzw. die Bohrung von Brunnen mit einer maximalen Tiefe von 10 m.

Die untere Wasserbehörde ist zuständig für die Grundwasserentnahme von Mengen bis zu 3.600 m3 pro Jahr, soweit sie nicht zum Zwecke der öffentlichen Wasserversorgung erfolgen. Darüber hinaus ist die obere Wasserbehörde, das Regierungspräsidium Darmstadt zuständig.
