Request the release of an anonymous court decision

If you have become aware that a civil court decision (judgment or order) has been issued, which you would like to see, you can request an anonymous copy of this decision.

Decisions of the Hessian courts, which are regarded by the documentation centres as worthy of publication, are made available for inspection in the state case law database. This publication serves to inform interested citizens and the professional public. Decisions that you cannot find there can be requested from the respective court. In principle, it is necessary to specify the court that made the civil court decision and the file number.

If the surrender of the court decision is refused, a review of the legality pursuant to § 23 EGGVG may be requested.

The anonymised copy of a court decision can only be issued by the court that issued the judgment or order. For this purpose, an informal application must be made to the court. After receipt of the application, it is examined there whether the requested court decision is in principle suitable for being handed over to a third party not involved in the proceedings. If this is the case, the court decision regarding sensitive data of the parties to the proceedings will be anonymised and sent to the applicant. A separate cost accounting is then issued for the costs incurred.

The surrender of an anonymous court decision can be requested at any time, without observing deadlines .

There is no legal processing period. As a rule, processing takes place within a few days of receipt of the application.

There is a fee of 15 euros.

In principle, court decisions of the Hessian courts, which consider the documentation centres to be worthy of publication, have already been published in the Land case law database. Only if the requested decision is not yet reflected there, a separate application to the competent court is necessary.
