Description
According to the provisions of the Hessian Forest Act, any forest conversion measures require a permit. A distinction must be made between permanent and temporary forest conversion. Any necessary forestry compensation in the form of reafforestation or forest conservation levy shall also be examined by the competent authority in such an approval procedure. Other specialist authorities are also involved in the procedure.

Als Ausgleich für eine Waldumwandlung (Rodung) ist eine Ersatzaufforstung nachzuweisen. Nur wenn nachgewiesen wird, dass keine Ersatzaufforstungsfläche gefunden werden konnte, kann eine Walderhaltungsabgabe festgesetzt werden.
