If you want to hold road races, you must apply for a permit beforehand.
Description
The relevant road traffic authorities can issue permits for excessive road use in accordance with Section 29 of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO).
This legal basis stipulates a permit requirement for events that use the road more than is customary and for vehicles that exceed the generally permitted legal limits.

Basis for legal action
Procedure
The application must be submitted to the responsible approval authority in writing or online with the above-mentioned attachments. The authority will then hear all public interest groups and, after evaluating the comments, decide on the possibility of granting the requested exemption for racing on public roads.
Deadlines
The application must be submitted at least 6 weeks before the start of the event.
Costs
The costs for the procedure are calculated according to the currently valid scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt) and are variable depending on the scope of services provided by the authority (fee no. 263).
