Would you like to apply for a permit to use the professional title of medical-technical laboratory assistant?

The legally prescribed requirements for the use of the professional title are examined. After a successful examination, permission to use the professional title of medical-technical laboratory assistant is granted.

The Hessian State Office for Health and Care (HLfGP) has been responsible since 01.01.2023.

• Medical certificate of fitness (not older than three months),
• Certificate of good conduct in accordance with § 30 (4) of the Federal Central Register Act (not older than three months),
• Declaration of reliability

• Personal appearance necessary: No

• You have completed the prescribed training and passed the state examination,
• You have not been guilty of any behavior that would make you unreliable to practice the profession,
• You are not medically unfit to practise the profession,
• You have the necessary knowledge of the German language to exercise the profession.

Administrative court action

- You submit your application to the competent authority using the online form and upload the required documents if necessary,
- the permit is issued if the competent authority determines that the legal requirements have been met.

The professional title may only be used after permission has been granted.
