The legally prescribed requirements for the use of the professional title are examined. After successful examination, permission is granted to use the professional title of masseuse and medical lifeguard / masseur and medical lifeguard.

Since 01.01.2023, the Hessian State Office for Health and Care (HLfGP) has been responsible.

• Medical certificate of health suitability (not older than three months),
• Certificate of good conduct according to § 30 (5) of the Federal Central Register Act (not older than three months),
• Assurance

• You have completed the prescribed training and passed the state examination,
• You have not been guilty of conduct that results in unreliability in the exercise of the profession,
• They are not unfit for the exercise of the profession from a health point of view,
• You have the knowledge of the German language required to carry out your professional activity.
   

Administrative court action
 

• You submit your application to the competent authority via the online form and, if necessary, upload the required documents,
• The permit is issued when the competent authority determines that the legal requirements are met.
   

The professional title may only be used after permission has been granted.

Fee 80,00 EUR

The tasks of the Hessian State Office for Health and Care include state recognition and supervision of Hessian training centres. In addition, the authority is responsible for examination matters in these training courses. It issues the examination certificates, professional license certificates and, if necessary, replacement documents.
