Request deletion of membership with the Chamber of Skilled Crafts

If the operation of a craft or craft-like trade is no longer to be continued, you must apply to your Chamber of Crafts for deletion.

Companies in trades requiring a license, trades not requiring a license and trades similar to trades are compulsory members of their respective Chamber of Skilled Crafts, where they are entered either in the Register of Skilled Crafts or in the register of owners of a business in a trade not requiring a license or a trade similar to a trade. If you do not wish to continue your business or the registration requirements no longer apply, you must submit an application for deletion.
When the business is deleted from the Register of Craftsmen or the list of owners of a business in a craft that does not require a license or a trade similar to a craft, membership of the Chamber of Crafts also expires. If a craft business requiring a license is deleted from the Register of Craftsmen, the craft card must be returned to the Chamber of Crafts.
The following are entitled to apply:

• Tradesman or tradeswoman or
• Partners in the case of partnerships or
• legal representative in the case of corporations (e.g. managing director of a GmbH)
• in the event of death: Spouse or heir or heiress
  

The Chamber of Skilled Crafts in whose district the main commercial establishment is located is responsible.

• Fully completed and signed application for deletion
• Copy of the business deregistration or re-registration or other documents showing that the registration requirements are not or no longer met
• For businesses entered in the register of craftsmen: Original of the craftsman's card

business owner, partner in a partnership or legal representative of a corporation (e.g. managing director of a limited liability company) must apply online or in writing.
Online application:

• Applications are submitted via the administrative portal of your federal state. The chambers of skilled crafts also offer online access to their administrative procedures.

Written application:

• Go to the website of your local Chamber of Skilled Crafts.
• Download the application form.
• Alternatively, you can also contact your Chamber of Skilled Crafts directly and have the required documents sent to you.
• Complete the form in full and send it together with any required documents by post or electronically to your local Chamber of Skilled Crafts.
• Your application and documents will be checked by the Chamber of Skilled Crafts.
• After your documents have been checked, you will receive a deletion notification if the requirements are met.
• For businesses in the skilled trades requiring a license: Return your skilled trades card to the Chamber of Skilled Crafts.

You should submit the application as soon as you become aware of a reason for deletion, as deletions cannot be made retroactively and the obligation to pay contributions continues for the duration of the entry in the Register of Craftsmen.

Your entry will be deleted immediately if the requirements are met.

The deletion cannot be carried out retroactively, so that it will take place at the earliest on the date of receipt of the deletion request.
