Applying for an electric fishing permit

If you want to catch fish using electricity, this is strictly prohibited. For certain purposes, you can apply for an exemption, e.g. to carry out scientific research or to fish spawnically.

For certain purposes, the authority may, upon request, allow you to catch fish using electricity. These are: for catching spawning fish, for inventories to preserve evidence or for the preparation of conservation plans, for scientific studies or for sustainable water management that cannot be reached with other fishing gear. Furthermore, various requirements are placed on the electric fan device and its operator.

They must state the purpose of fishing using electricity and provide the necessary documentation.

In addition, you may only fish using direct current or suitable pulse direct current. You must not use alternating current as a catch current. You must use the electric fishing gear according to the recognized rules of technology. They must comply with the duties of care arising from the operating instructions and the particular local circumstances.

Objection first and then action

You apply for permission to fish using electricity via the application form provided. In doing so, you specify the purpose and attach the necessary documents.
The competent authority will check your application for completeness and whether the technical requirements for an exemption are met. After completion of the examination, you will be notified of the rejection or approval. This notification may be subject to a fee.
