Apply for a grant for the restructuring and conversion of vineyards

Restructuring and conversion of vineyards in accordance with the Hessian Wine Promotion and Development Program and Art. 46 of Regulation (EIU) 1308/2013.

Here you can apply for funding for the restructuring and conversion of vineyards.

In detail, the following measures are supported:

1. Adaptation to modern cultivation techniques as well as site and climatic conditions through and planting after land consolidation measures.
2. Conversion of steep slope areas to cross-terracing
3. Construction or restoration of vineyard walls
4. Installation of irrigation systems

Responsibility lies with the Darmstadt Regional Council - Department V 51.2 Viticulture.

• Your vineyards are recorded in the vineyard register of the State of Hesse
• You exercise the actual power of disposal over the vineyards
• The vineyard area is larger than 500 m². The area can also be made up of adjacent vineyards that are also applied for restructuring by forming a management unit. The eligible area is defined by the outer circumference of the vines plus a buffer whose width corresponds to half the distance between the rows of vines.
• You must submit the application by August 31 of the year preceding the implementation of the measure at the latest and complete it by June 30 of the year after next at the latest
• If a new support system is set up, minimum row widths must be observed
• A reduction in row spacing is only eligible for funding if the original row width is at least 2.30 m
• For measure 1.1 Adaptation to modern farming techniques, the target row width must deviate by at least 10 cm from the original row width
• Only wine grape varieties classified for Hesse may be planted for funding under No. 1.1[.
• The construction or restoration of vineyard walls must be carried out as dry stone or natural stone walls

Legal action

• The application for funding must be submitted between July 1 and August 31 of the year preceding the implementation of the measure. The required documents and forms are available in the agricultural portal during this period.
• Once the measure has been completed, you must submit a final report (proof of use) to the granting authority. This can be submitted from May 1 to June 30.
• You apply for payment of the aid as part of the joint application by May 15 of the current year.
