You can apply for a category L driving licence.
The category L driving licence is the ''small tractor licence''. With it, you can already carry out agricultural or forestry work at the age of 16, but only with a maximum speed of 40 km/h and with trailer a maximum of 25 km/h.
The category T driving licence is issued for an unlimited period.

Sollten sie noch keinen EU-Kartenführerschein besitzen, muss zunächst der Papierführerschein umgetauscht werden. Dafür reichen sie bitte zusätzlich einen Antrag auf Umtausch ihres Führerscheins ein.

- Designation of a driving school
- Identity card or passport (including registration certificate if applicable)
- a current biometric photograph, in accordance with the provisions of the Passport Ordinance (35 x 45 mm, portrait format, frontal photograph); Information and examples can be found in the photo sample board of the Bundesdruckerei
- Proof of participation in a training course in first aid
- Proof of vision according to Annex 6 No. 1.1 to the FeV (not older than 2 years)

Procedure
You must submit an application for a category L driving licence to the driving licence authority responsible for you.
Deadlines
The application for the first issue of a driving licence shall lapse if the theory test has not been passed within twelve months of receipt of the test order or the practical test has not been passed within twelve months of passing the theory test.

The processing time depends on the workload of the respective driving licence authority.
Costs
The driving licence authority charges in accordance with the scale of charges for road traffic measures.

The acquisition of a category L driving licence requires only a theoretical test, § 15 Abs. 2 Fahrerlaubnis-Verordnung.
There is no probationary period for the category L driving licence.
