Apply for registration as a small craft entrepreneur in the register of the locally competent Chamber of Crafts

If you would like to work independently on a non-essential activity of a craft subject to licensing and have a relevant journeyman's training, you must be entered in the register of your locally responsible Chamber of Crafts.

Chambers of Crafts represent the interests of the entire craft sector in a chamber district. Their task is to promote the region's businesses and support their interests through self-management.

If you are self-employed in a non-essential activity of a craft subject to licensing, which quantitatively accounts for the majority of your commercial activity and is carried out in the form of a craft business, and if you have a journeyman's training in a craft subject to licensing, the training content of which has prepared you for the activity carried out, you are a compulsory member of the Chamber of Crafts.

When you commence your commercial activity, you must apply for entry in the register of persons pursuant to § 90 (3) and (4) HwO. The Chamber of Crafts in whose district your commercial establishment exists is responsible.

As soon as you belong to the Chamber of Crafts, you can use the offers and services of your Chamber of Crafts.
 

The competent authority is the Chamber of Crafts in Rhineland-Palatinate in whose district the main commercial establishment is located.

• Copy of identity card or comparable identification document
• Copy of the business registration (can be submitted after registration)

• Self-employed exercise of a non-essential activity of a craft subject to licensing.
• In quantitative terms, this activity accounts for the majority of commercial activity and is carried out in the form of a craft business.
• The applicant has completed journeyman training in a craft subject to licensing, the content of which has prepared him or her for the work performed. Certain preparatory training measures that essentially correspond to completed journeyman training are treated in the same way.
