Description
- The certificate of origin plays a role in the application of preferential tariffs and anti-dumping measures or is used for price control, monitoring import restrictions and similar purposes. The certificate of origin is a clear proof of the commercial origin of goods issued by an independent body. Proof of origin is often required in the international trade of goods.

Required documents
If the application shows that the goods were manufactured "in another establishment", proof of origin must be submitted at the time of application, from which the origin of the goods can be established beyond doubt:
- Certificate of origin from the upstream supplier
- supplier's declarations
- Manufacturer's invoices, delivery bills or other business documents from manufacturers in the European Union, if they show that the goods were manufactured in the company's own plant.

Prerequisites
- Upon request, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce will issue the certificates of origin and/or other certificates required for foreign trade. For this purpose, it is necessary that you have your company headquarters, your business premises or your place of residence in the HWK district and that the goods are at least ready for dispatch in the customs territory of the European Union or are in the process of being dispatched. Blank certificates of origin cannot be issued.

- Appointment of the IP admin and, if necessary, deputy for the company by e-mail (subject "IP admin")

The registration can be done within a few minutes. Documents are usually issued within office hours on the same day.

Notes (specifics)
Electronically issued certificates of origin and certified documents are generally recognized. Exception: Federal Office of Administration (BVA).
If companies use the eUZ application, they still have the option of applying for certificates of origin and commercial documents in paper form.
