Certificate of competence according to the Chemical Ozone Layer Ordinance Exemption

In individual cases, you can be exempted from the requirement of a certificate of competence according to the Chemical Ozone Layer Ordinance.

In order to work on technical facilities that use ozone-depleting substances, you usually need to provide proof of competence. This is a completed relevant vocational training, a certificate of competence according to the Chemicals Climate Protection Ordinance or equivalent proof from other European countries.

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce or Chamber of Crafts may, on request, exempt you from the requirement of technical or craft training in individual cases if you meet the requirements for entry in the register of craftsmen in a relevant craft or otherwise prove that you are comparably qualified for technical or craft activities. The competent authority may obtain an opinion from the competent guild or professional association before taking a decision.

You first submit your application for exemption from the requirement of technical or craft training to a chamber of commerce and industry or chamber of crafts.
