Residence permit for the purpose of gainful employment Extension to look for a job after recognition of foreign professional qualifications

After successful determination of the equivalence of your foreign professional qualification or receipt of the professional practice permit in Germany, your residence permit for job search can be extended for a maximum of 12 months directly afterwards.

    Description

If you have successfully established the equivalence of a foreign professional qualification or have received the professional practice permit, you can be granted a temporary residence permit for job search.

The residence permit will be issued to you directly after your previous recognition procedure. An extension of the residence permit is only possible if the maximum period has not been exhausted when it was first issued. If you cannot find a job during this time, it is not possible to extend your residence permit. They are then obliged to leave the Federal territory.

This residence permit allows gainful employment without restriction.
