Apply for an advance for the purchase of a bicycle

If you are a state employee and are planning to purchase a bicycle (including tricycles, recumbents or cargo bikes, with or without electric pedal assistance), you can apply for an interest-free advance on your salary.

Employees of the State of Hesse can apply for a non-interest-bearing advance on their salary/remuneration for the purpose of purchasing a bicycle (including tricycles, recumbents or cargo bikes, with or without electric pedal assistance) if certain conditions are met. In this way, the state of Hesse aims to promote bicycle mobility.

The exact amount of this advance depends on certain conditions and is limited to EUR 2,600. It can be repaid in individual installments (max. thirty monthly installments), the amount of which also depends on individual requirements.

The total annual budget available for this purpose is limited to 1% of the estimated personnel expenses. Applications are processed according to the date of receipt.

Pension recipients and trainees are not eligible to apply.

The highest service authority or the body authorized by it decides on applications for advance payments.

Proof of purchase of a bicycle against payment.

• State employees with entitlement to remuneration, trainee remuneration or salary
• Employees and trainees: employment or training contract not terminated and end of the probationary period under the employment contract or collective agreement
• Purchase of a bicycle, tricycle, recumbent or cargo bike, with or without electric pedal assistance
• Application submitted within one month of the expenses being incurred (purchase and payment)
• Secured repayment of the advance
• The annual budget available has not yet been used up.

Submit an application stating your personal details, the desired advance amount and the desired monthly installments.

• Submit the application together with proof of purchase.
• The responsible office will check the requirements and determine the actual amount of the advance and the monthly installments.
• The advance will be paid out to your salary account.
• The monthly installments will be deducted from your salary or salary payments until the advance is repaid in full.

The application must be submitted within one month of the expense being incurred (due date on the invoice). be made.
