Extension of the residence permit to continue a course of study started in another EU country

You can have your residence permit extended to continue studying in another EU country before the expiry of its period of validity if you meet certain conditions for this

    Description

The residence permit for continuing a course of study started in another EU country is a temporary residence permit. The residence permit is extended for the duration of the compulsory period of study or exchange programme carried out in Germany.

The same conditions apply to the renewal of your residence permit as to the issuance. In particular, your livelihood should be secured for the duration of your studies in Germany.

As a rule, the residence permit cannot be extended if this was already excluded when the residence permit was issued or last extended.
