Description
Persons with statutory health insurance are entitled to medical treatment if necessary. Medical treatment should be appropriate and necessary. It may:
- the prevention of diseases

- the early detection and treatment of diseases
serve.
Medical treatment also includes the assistance of other persons if this is prescribed by a doctor.
Legally insured persons can visit any doctor who is licensed to provide contract medical care. These can be, for example, family doctors or specialists in medical care centres, practices or outpatient facilities. In most cases, it makes sense to contact the family doctor first.
