Granting of support in child day care

The child day care serves the upbringing, education and care of the child by a childminder or a childminder and is usually an offer of the public youth welfare, ie the youth welfare offices of the districts and cities. The care usually takes place in the household of the childminder or the childminder, but can also take place in the household of the child's parents or in other suitable rooms.

A child who has reached the age of one is entitled to support in a day care centre or in day-care until he or she reaches the age of three.

After reaching the age of three until starting school, there is an entitlement to support in a day care centre. The child can be supported in case of special needs or additionally in child day care. As a rule, this also applies to schoolchildren.

The parents contact the youth welfare office of their district or city and seek advice there.

As a rule, a parental contribution must be paid to the Youth Welfare Office for the care of the child in child day care.
