Water fee, water price
Description
The municipality is responsible for supplying the population with drinking water. It may transfer its obligation to supply water to other bodies governed by public law (e.g. associations) or to private third parties. Companies under private law are subject to price and competition law. They calculate water prices.
Public water suppliers are subject to the Hessian law on municipal taxes. This contains the principle of cost recovery. The fees calculated according to this are fees or contributions.
Depending on the calculation, the water fee or the water price can be divided into a basic charge and a quantity charge or can only be presented as a quantity charge.
The customer shall contribute to the costs of the new connection on a one-off basis.
