Description
The threat to aviation security caused by the carriage of prohibited articles is to be prevented by the aviation security checks.
A comparison between booking documents (boarding pass) and personal documents, the so-called ID check, before access to the security areas at airports does not take place in Germany as part of aviation security checks. During police checks on cross-border traffic at the Schengen external borders of the Federal Republic of Germany on the sea and airside, the border crossing documents are checked.
Travellers are obliged to carry their border crossing documents when crossing the border. It is possible that the air carrier requires the passenger to present an identity document.
