Donate to the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief

If you would like to support the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) financially, you can do so by donating to the THW Foundation or to the THW Federal Association.

The Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) is financed by taxes as a federal authority in the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Home Affairs (federal budget).

You can realize donations for the THW exclusively through the THW-Stiftung or the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. .

The THW-Stiftung and the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. are non-profit organizations. Therefore, your donations are generally tax deductible. You can make both monetary donations and donations of materials.

With donations to the THW-Foundation or to the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. you support

• THW in fulfilling its tasks in national and international civil defense and disaster control;
• Research projects as well as the cooperation of THW with universities;
• disaster prevention measures, including in the field of environmental protection and nature conservation;
• the recruitment and retention of young people for the voluntary work of the THW.

You can send your monetary donations directly to the THW Foundation or to the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V., indicating whether you would like to receive a donation receipt. For material donations, it is recommended to contact the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. in advance.

Since this concerns donations to the THW Foundation or to the THW-Bundesvereinigung e.V., no decision is made by an authority with regard to the donors.

You can donate to the THW Foundation or to the THW Federal Association.

You can donate in three different ways:

• by bank transfer,
• by direct debit or
• to the THW Foundation also via PayPal.

Bank transfer:

• You can donate to the THW-Bundesvereinigung e.V. - offline - by bank transfer.
• You can also transfer money to the THW Foundation online on the "Stiftung Technisches Hilfswerk" website:
  • Look for the "Donate" option. You will find this directly on the main page.
  • Specify instant bank transfer as the desired donation option.
  • Fill out the donation form and confirm it at the end.

Direct debit:

• If you would like to set up a standing order for regular donations to THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. or give THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. a direct debit authorization by fax or by mail, you can do so using the conventional direct debit procedure (offline).
• For donations to the THW Foundation, you can also issue a direct debit authorization online on the "Stiftung Technisches Hilfswerk" website:
  • Look for the "Donate" option. You will find this directly on the main page.
  • Specify SEPA direct debit as the desired donation option.

Fill out the donation form and specify a desired cycle (one-time, monthly, yearly) when the money should be debited from your account.

Via PayPal:

• Go to the website "Stiftung Technisches Hilfswerk" .
• Go to the menu item "Donations". You will find this directly on the main page.
• Specify PayPal as the desired donation option if you have a PayPal account.
• Fill out the donation form and confirm it at the end.
• For the proof for the tax office, go to the menu item "Donations" on the website of the "Stiftung Technisches Hilfswerk".
• Then go to the option "Request donation receipt". Fill out the deposited form and send it.

• If you intend to make a material donation, you can do so as follows:
  • Make an appointment with the THW local association nearest to you so that they can confirm the usability of your possible material donations for THW purposes.

The THW local association will then put you in contact with the local THW helper association nearest to you.

There is no deadline.

The above cash donation procedures do not take longer than comparable cash transfers. The processing time for in-kind donations depends on both the type and size of the in-kind donation in question.
