Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Assistant - Apply for Entry in the Register of Vocational Training Relationships

Every training contract for a recognised training occupation in accordance with the Vocational Training Act must be entered in the register of vocational training.

Veterinary assistants assist veterinarians in the examination, treatment and care of animals and in advising animal owners. They also carry out organisational and administrative work.

The occupation of veterinary assistant is a state-recognized training occupation. The training takes place in the dual system of vocational training at the two places of learning company (veterinary practice or clinic) and vocational school and usually lasts 3 years.

The Vocational Training Act requires the conclusion of a written vocational training contract before the start of training. This must be entered immediately (no later than 1 week after completion) in the register of vocational training relationships maintained by the State Chamber of Veterinarians of Hesse.

• The vocational training contract signed by both parties (including legal representation in the case of minors) in triplicate.
• 2 copies will be returned after registration (1 each for the instructor and the trainees).
• in the case of a shortened duration of training: copies of the relevant documents (e.g. school certificates), informal application with signature of the trainee and the trainer
• for trainees who have not yet reached the age of majority at the beginning of the training: copy of the medical certificate of the initial examination

Prerequisites are:

• The vocational training contract complies with the Vocational Training Act (BBiG) and the training regulations.
• The professional and personal suitability of the trainers as well as the suitability of the training centre for recruitment and training are available.

Trainees under the age of 18 must submit a medical certificate of the initial examination for inspection.

Appeal before the Administrative Court

The application for registration, cancellation or amendment may be submitted in writing or electronically to the competent authority.

The competent authority checks the relevant data and documents under the Vocational Training Act and records them in the register of vocational training contracts. During registration, for example, the training contract and training plan are checked with regard to the legal requirements, as well as the training authority with regard to the suitability for training. If necessary, the responsible authority will contact you for queries, additional requests for documents or rectification of defects.

At the end of the procedure, you will receive a corresponding notification from the competent authority as to whether the registration/deletion/modification has been made or rejected.
 

Application must be submitted immediately after conclusion of the contract.

The fees to be paid by the training company are based on the cost statutes of the State Chamber of Veterinarians.

Love for animals alone is not enough, the profession also requires good communication and conflict skills, a sense of responsibility, flexibility and often also strong psychological resilience.
