Chemical Ozone Layer Regulation: Certificate of competence / training events

Certain work relating to substances which damage the ozone layer because they deplete it may only be carried out by certain persons. These persons must, inter alia, be reliable, have the necessary technical equipment and have demonstrated the necessary expertise.

Proof of competence can be provided, for example, by attending training events. According to § 5 Chemicals Ozone Layer Ordinance, only those providers may carry out training events that are recognized by the competent authority.

Upon request, exemption from the need for technical and craft training may be granted, provided that the applicant proves that he or she is comparably qualified.

Recognition must take place before the first seminar.

The costs for recognition as an authorized body depend on the time required, in accordance with the general administrative costs schedule in conjunction with the administrative costs schedule of the business area.
