Landesapothekerkammer - Membership

Pharmacists who practice their profession in Hesse are members of the State Chamber of Pharmacists of Hesse. The Landesapothekerkammer Hessen is the professional association of pharmacists in Hesse.

The main tasks of the chamber include

• Representing the professional interests of its members
• Monitoring professional duties

Promoting the further education and training of its members

Completed and signed registration form and a copy of the

• license to practice medicine

or

• Permission to practice the profession of pharmacist

If the employment is not in a pharmacy, a job description must also be enclosed.

Pharmacists in possession of a license to practice pharmacy or a permit to practice the profession of pharmacist in accordance with Section 2 (2) of the Federal Pharmacists' Code and who practice their profession in Hesse must register with the Hesse State Chamber of Pharmacists. They are compulsory members.

Pharmacists who do not practise their profession and have their main residence in Hesse or who last practised their profession in Hesse and work outside the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as persons who are undergoing practical pharmaceutical training in Hesse in accordance with the licensing regulations for pharmacists (pharmacists in internships) may join on a voluntary basis.

Registration must be made in writing. You can obtain the necessary registration form from the Hessen Chamber of Pharmacists or download it from the homepage.

Registration must be made within one month of taking up employment or within 5 days in the case of temporary employment.

Changes to personal data, change of employer and other changes to the employment relationship must also be reported within one month. The termination of pharmaceutical activity must be reported immediately.

Members of the Landesapothekerkammer Hessen pay contributions in accordance with the contribution regulations of the Landesapothekerkammer Hessen.

The contributions are to be paid quarterly.

Owners of public pharmacies pay contributions that are staggered according to the annual turnover of the pharmacy or pharmacies in the previous year.

Employed pharmacists pay a contribution of between € 40.00 and € 70.00 per quarter, depending on the number of weekly working hours and the place of employment.

Employees in industry or a hospital pharmacy pay a contribution of between € 40.00 and € 60.00 per quarter, depending on the number of weekly working hours.

If you work in public administration or at a university, the amount is between € 40.00 and € 50.00 per quarter, depending on the weekly working hours.

For freelancers or those working as a substitute, the amount is €50.00 per quarter.

Voluntary members pay a contribution of € 40.00 per quarter.

When taking over a public pharmacy or a branch network, the amount of the contribution is based on the turnover of the last reference year.on the turnover of the last reference year of the previous owner.

Pharmacists in internships are exempt from contributions.
