Recognition as a training centre according to the Professional Driver Qualification Act

Anyone who carries out journeys in road haulage or passenger transport for commercial purposes on public roads is obliged to obtain initial qualifications and regular further training. If you want to offer drivers courses for accelerated initial qualification or further training in the state of Hesse, your company must be a recognised training centre.

Recognition is granted upon request.

You only do not have to apply for courses on your own premises if you operate the following companies:

• Driving school with a driving school license of classes CE (truck) or DE (bus)
• Driving school and driving instructor training centre which, pursuant to Paragraph 30(3) of the Driving Instructors Act, do not require a driving school licence or recognition
• Training company that carries out vocational training in the training occupations "professional driver" or "specialist in driving operation" and is recognized for this by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce
• Carrier of a retraining as a "professional driver" or "specialist in driving operation" with recognition of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce
   

The body responsible in the Land of Hesse for the recognition of training centres in accordance with § 7 (2) of the Professional Driver Qualification Act (BKrFQG) is the Regierungspräsidium Gießen
 

Please submit the following application documents:

• written application indicating which courses you would like to take (continuing training courses for road haulage or passenger transport and/or courses for accelerated initial qualification for road haulage or passenger transport)
• Proof of the technical or didactic-pedagogical competence of the trainers
• Proof of suitable training rooms and teaching materials for theoretical instruction
• Training program for each offered course
• only with accelerated initial qualification:
  Proof of at least one driving school vehicle that is suitable for driving tests in classes CE or DE
• only with accelerated initial qualification:
  Proof of at least one driving instructor with a class CE or DE driving instructor
   

If the application documents are complete, the application will usually be processed within 4 weeks.

You can limit the application for recognition as a training centre to the courses you wish to offer. You can limit your application to further training in road haulage, further training in passenger transport, accelerated initial qualification in road haulage and accelerated initial qualification in passenger transport.
