Public Scale - View Operation

Public scales within the meaning of the Weights and Measures Act are scales with which weighing material of third parties is weighed.

Third-party weighing material means that neither the operating personnel nor the weighing instrument owner may have an interest in the weighing result.
The scale must be available to everyone during the stated opening hours. This condition may also be met, for example, as in the case of a wholesale market or slaughterhouse, if only a certain group of persons has access to the scales.

If you wish to start or discontinue the operation of a public weighing scale, you must notify the competent authority immediately.
