Description
If young people between the ages of 14 and 18 or young adults up to the age of 21 have come into conflict with the law, they and their parents can turn to youth welfare services in criminal proceedings.
Youth welfare in criminal proceedings is one of the statutory tasks of the Youth Welfare Office. It is involved in the entire process of juvenile court proceedings. In doing so, it accompanies young delinquents, but also supports the juvenile courts and the juvenile prosecutor's office with reports, statements and decision-making aids. In all considerations, the personal life situation of the young person is in the foreground.

Description
Die Jugendgerichtshilfe nimmt als spezialisierter Fachdienst die Aufgaben der Jugendhilfe in Strafverfahren gegen junge Menschen wahr, die im Alter von 14 bis 20 Jahren mit dem Strafgesetz in Konflikt geraten sind. Dazu gehören Informationsvermittlung sowie die Beratung und Begleitung der jungen Menschen und ihrer Eltern/Bezugspersonen vor, während und auch nach einem Jugendstrafverfahren. Vorrangiges Ziel ist es, einer Wiederholung strafrechtlich relevanten Verhaltens vorzubeugen.

By law, the employees of the youth court assistance service are present at every court hearing against young people aged between 14 and 20.
