Apply for entry in the register of postal service providers at the Federal Network Agency

    If your company provides postal services, you must be entered in the digital directory of postal service providers at the Federal Network Agency.

    Description

    Since 19.07.2024, the Federal Network Agency has maintained a digital directory of postal service providers (Postal Service Provider Directory).

    As a provider, you may only provide postal services if you are entered in the provider directory. If you wish to commission another provider to provide postal services, this provider must also be entered in the digital provider directory.

    With the directory of providers of postal services, the distinction between postal services requiring a license and those requiring notification no longer applies.

    If your company had a valid license to transport letter mail items weighing up to 1,000 grams before 19.07.2024, you were automatically entered in the directory of providers.

    If you were dutifully registered with the Federal Network Agency as a provider of postal services before 19.07.2024, you can continue your activities until 18.08.2026. Only then will you have to be entered in the digital provider directory.

    Prerequisites

    • You would like to apply for inclusion in the Federal Network Agency's directory of postal service providers.

    No legal remedies are provided for.

    Procedure

    You register the commencement of the provision of postal services online:

    • Open the application for entry in the digital directory of postal service providers in the federal portal.
    • Follow all the steps and complete the form in full.
    • Add all necessary attachments to the application via upload. If you are still missing documents, you can upload them later.
    • Submit the application online.
    • The Federal Network Agency will review your application within 4 weeks.
    • If there are no obstacles, it will be entered in the digital provider directory and your registration will be confirmed accordingly.
    • You will receive confirmation as soon as you have been included in the digital provider directory.
    • If the 4-week period has expired without an entry or rejection, you are deemed to have been entered in the digital provider directory.

    Inclusion in the provider directory is subject to a fee.

    If you operate a branch, a parcel store or an automated station, you do not have to go through the application process. Instead, you must submit the required information to the Federal Network Agency electronically on 01.01. and 01.07. of each year. These are
