Apply for an individual training program with facilitations for (former) holders of a military pilot license from Germany.

Would you like to start training in the field of aviation personnel and already hold or have held a military pilot's license from Germany? Then you can apply to the Federal Aviation Office for a training waiver.

If you would like to start training in the field of aviation personnel, you can take advantage of a training waiver if you already hold or have held a military pilot's license from Germany. To do this, you need a permit, which you apply for from the Federal Aviation Office (LBA). For this purpose, the future training organization (Approved Training Organization, ATO) must draw up an individual training programme, which the LBA will approve.

These administrative services are generally aimed at all students who hold or have held a military pilot's license. You can also be represented by the future ATO or a third party.

• In case of representation: Power of attorney
• Part-FCL license, if available and not issued by the LBA
• Training program
• current version of the ATO certificate of the future ATO and the associated attachment for ATOs that do not operate in the LBA's area of responsibility
• Military supplement
• Confirmation from the Bundeswehr Aviation Office regarding the knowledge, experience and skills acquired during military service

• You hold or have held a military pilot license from Germany.
• The new ATO can present an individual training program approved by the LBA.

You can apply for approval for training facilitation online, by post or by fax.

Online application:

• Go to the website of the federal portal and call up the online form. The online form will guide you step by step through the information and documents required.
• You can upload the required documents directly in the form.
• You can then submit the application via the portal.
• The Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) will contact you if anything is unclear or if any information is missing.
• If all requirements are met, the LBA will send you the result documents.
• You pay the fees.

Apply by post or fax:

• Go to the website of the federal portal and call up the online form. The online form will guide you step by step through the information and documents required.
• Once you have completed the form, print it out and send it to the LBA by post or fax together with the required documents.
• The remaining steps of the procedure are identical to those of the online application.
