Exemption from the training requirement due to an ICAO third-country license for commercial pilots (ATPL) with a valid type rating
You can be exempted from the training requirement for commercial pilots if you hold an ICAO third-country airline transport pilot license (ATPL) with a valid type rating for the ATPL examination.
Description
In order to obtain a commercial pilot licence for the first time in accordance with the regulations of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), you must complete training at an Approved Training Organization (ATO) with an individual training programme that has been approved by the German Federal Aviation Authority (LBA).
However, you can be exempted from the requirement to complete theoretical and practical training if you hold an ICAO third-country airline transport pilot license (ATPL) with a valid type rating for the ATPL examination. ICAO stands for International Civil Aviation Organization and ATPL for Airline Transport Pilot License.
You need a permit for this, which you apply for at the LBA.
