Apply to amend your funding application for projects to promote social structure in partner countries

Are you receiving funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for a social structure promotion project? Then you must obtain approval from the BMZ for unscheduled changes in the course of the project.

The BMZ must approve all changes that

• content,
• partners,
• personnel,
• duration or
• financing

of the project.

To do this, submit a change or top-up request to the BMZ.

You must submit a change request in the following cases:

• there are significant changes to the project concept.
• You terminate cooperation with a partner prematurely during the course of the project.
• You would like to work with a new partner who is not specified in the original project application.
• Your project staff deviates from the approved staffing plan.
• The project takes longer than approved.
• When reallocating an individual approach. For example, you would like to use funds approved for educational measures for construction measures instead. A change request is necessary if the expenditure for an individual appropriation is at least 30 percent higher than the approved amount.
• The actual transfer of funds differs from the transfer of funds that you specified in the interim statement.
• The expenditure estimated in the financing plan is reduced.

You can apply for an increase if the expenditure budgeted in the financing plan and the expenditure approved in the grant notification increase.

In your amendment or top-up application, you must state what the change is and attach the necessary documents.

• In the event of changes to the country or sub-project allocation: Overview of country or sub-project allocation (Annex 2, sample 4)
• In the event of changes to project personnel: staffing plan (Annex 2, sample 5)

You receive grants from the BMZ for a project to promote social structures.

You can submit your change application for a social structure funding project online via the federal portal or informally by e-mail or post.

Submit an amendment application online via the federal portal:

• Call up the online application on the federal portal. This will guide you step by step through the necessary information.
• Upload the required documents and submit the application.
• The BMZ will check your details and documents.
• If necessary, the BMZ will contact the Federal Foreign Office to check whether your application is foreign policy compliant.
• The BMZ will contact you if further documents or information are required.
• The BMZ will inform you whether your application has been approved.

Submit a change request by e-mail or post:

• You can submit the application informally. It must contain a meaningful description of the intended change.
• Send your application with the necessary documents to the BMZ by e-mail or post.
• The BMZ will check your details and documents.
• If necessary, the BMZ will contact the Federal Foreign Office to check that there are no foreign policy objections.
• The BMZ will contact you if further documents or information are required.
• The BMZ will inform you whether your application has been approved.
