Request repetition of up to 300 lessons of the language course

Under certain conditions, you can repeat the language course once for up to 300 teaching units.

Are you taking part in a literacy course or a course for low-literacy learners and have exhausted your individual quota of hours? Then you can repeat up to 300 hours of the language course once.

You must apply to the relevant office to repeat 300 hours.

When applying for the repetition of 300 lessons, you must submit written confirmation from your course provider:

• for participants in literacy courses: proof that you have used up your individual quota of hours or are currently in the 9th course section of a literacy course

• for participants in a course for low-literacy learners: Proof that you have used up your individual quota of hours or are currently in the 9th course section of a course for low literacy learners

You have completed all lessons or are in the 9th course section of a literacy course or a course for low-literacy learners.

Action before the administrative court

You can submit your application for a one-time repetition of the language course online or by post to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).

An authorized representative can also submit the application on your behalf.

Submit the application online:

• Complete the online application for a one-time repetition of a maximum of 300 lessons of the language course.
• If you are also applying for exemption from the course fees in your application, upload the necessary proof, for example, of your receipt of citizen's allowance.
• Log in with your user account.
  • If you are submitting the application for yourself, confirm your registration using the online ID function of your ID card or your electronic residence permit with PIN or your tax administration software certificate (ELSTER). Submit the application online.
  • If you are submitting the application as an authorized body, confirm your registration with "My business account" and your ELSTER organization certificate. Submit the application online.
• The BAMF will check your application and contact you if there are any questions or missing documents.
• You will receive a written notification by post about the approval or rejection of your application.

Application by post:

• You can either fill out the form on the BAMF website or download it and fill it out.
• Print out the form and sign it.
• Send the form by post to the BAMF regional office responsible for you. If you are also applying for exemption from the course fees in your application, please enclose the necessary supporting documents.
• The BAMF will check your application and contact you if there are any questions or missing documents.
• You will receive a written notification by post about the approval or rejection of your application.

You must submit the application before you start repeating the course.

• Your own contribution per lesson (45 minutes) is EUR 2.29.
• Exemption from costs is possible under certain conditions.

You pay the fee to your course provider at the beginning of the course section. You can find out which payment methods are possible from your course provider.
