Applying for a change to the accreditation of a conformity assessment body

If you wish to change the accreditation of a conformity assessment body, you must submit an application to the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS).

The Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) is responsible for checking and assessing conformity assessment bodies.

If you wish to change your accreditation as a conformity assessment body, you can apply to the DAkkS. A change can be, for example

• a change to your accredited scope of application
• a change of address
• the change of name of your company

DAkkS will check whether your organization meets the legal requirements for the requested change.

Your application for a change is valid for one conformity assessment body at a time. With your application, your existing accreditation will be changed.

In order to apply for a change of accreditation, you must be an existing customer of DAkkS with a valid, issued accreditation. You can submit several applications for a change.

• completed application
• current legal proof
• if applicable:
  • changes to the conformity assessment body, for example name or address
  • Information on changes to the scope
  • Changes to the use of the accreditation symbol
• necessary documents, according to the respective accreditation type
• if applicable, proof of the use of the qualified electronic signature (QES)

You are an existing customer and have a valid accreditation from the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH.

You can submit your application to change your accreditation online, by e-mail or by post.

Online application:

• Call up the accreditation portal of the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS-PORT).
• You are registered and logged in to DAkkS-PORT and have access to the stored data.
• Fill out the following form areas:
  • Application data
  • Organization
  • Conformity assessment body
  • scope of application
  • Required documents
  • Accreditation symbol
  • Sign application
  • summary
• Send the application.
• Your details will be processed in the system and sent to DAkkS for verification.
• You will receive online information summarizing the information submitted. You can view the processing status in DAkkS-PORT.
• DAkkS checks the application together with the responsible department.

Submit the application by e-mail or post:

• You complete the application form in accordance with the mandatory requirements.
• You send the application together with the enclosures and supporting documents to DAkkS by e-mail or post.
• DAkkS will check the application together with the relevant specialist department

The costs for changing an accreditation are based on the time required for the respective accreditation procedure. They are calculated after completion of the relevant procedure on the basis of the time actually spent. Tariff items 7.1 and 7.2 of the schedule of fees apply.
