  • The organisation of stock exchanges, participation in stock exchange trading, the admission of securities to stock exchange trading, as well as the duties and powers of the stock exchange bodies and the stock exchange supervisory authority are governed by the Stock Exchange Act (BörsG).
  • Provisions for securities trading in general, irrespective of whether this takes place on or off the stock exchange, e.g. prohibitions on insider trading, the ban on market price manipulation, ad hoc publicity obligations, reporting obligations in relation to voting rights in listed companies can be found in the Securities Trading Act (WpHG).
  • The details of exchange organisation and the procedure for exchange trading are set out in the rules and regulations of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the rules and regulations of Eurex Deutschland.
  • Hessian regulations relating to the exchanges based here are the Act on the Reimbursement of Exchange Supervisory Costs and the Enforcement of Decrees of the Exchange Supervisory Authority, the Exchange Ordinance and orders of the Exchange Supervisory Authority.
